January arraignment set for child abuse suspects in Scott County

A Gate City couple was investigated then charged with child abuse and neglect and aggravated malicious wounding after hospital workers caring for the child notified the Sheriff’s Office and Child Services about the injured 10 week old baby.

Emma Grace Ramey, 19 and Riley Allen Holbrooke, 23 were arrested after interviews with eyewitnesses and medical staff at a facility in Knoxville provided authorities with evidence to charge the pair.

Ramey and Holbrooke will be arraigned on the charges on January 7th in Scott County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
