Johnson City Police say two people shot near Mel Circle complex

Police are tracing steps to see what happened before two people were shot near a Johnson City public housing complex.

A city report said Mel Circle was the site of the 4pm shooting Tuesday. 911 and newly-installed Flock cameras received alerts of gunfire in that area and officers found the two victims with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators said the shots were fired from a vehicle and they developed a suspect—a juvenile male who is charged with attempted second degree murder plus drug and weapon felonies. The report said a parent of the juvenile was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
