Judge orders Bristol Virginia to turn over landfill documents to Bristol Tennessee

A judge has ruled Bristol Virginia officials must turn over official documents related to landfill operations to Bristol Tennessee after the locality requested the data through a Freedom of Information Act request.

According to City Attorney Danielle Smith, certain documents must be supplied this week while another batch will be sent to the city in May.

Bristol Tennessee City Council has threatened its sister city with legal action based on an odor problem at the Virginia landfill that some experts have said will take two years to correct.
