Kingsport approves $6.6 million for sewer line replacement

The city of Kingsport has approved a $6.6 million plan to replace nearly a mile-long stretch of sewer line near Reedy Creek, which is part of a larger five-mile overhaul to address outdated infrastructure. The sewer upgrade is one of many initiatives included in Kingsport’s five-year utility capital plan. The city communicated with over 2,000 residents to make sure the plan aligns with community expectations. Kingsport is applying for state revolving fund support, and construction could begin as soon as next year.
