Kingsport Plans To Connect Downtown District With Brickyard Park With Pedestrian Bridge

Currently, there is only one way to gain entrance to Kingsport’s Award winning Brickyard Park, located just on the outskirts of the downtown district. But city officials are now planning to construct a nearly two million dollar pedestrian and bicycle bridge across the CSX railroad tracks that run along side of East Main Street. The one point 85 million dollar state grant will be used to connect the downtown district at Centennial Park with Brickyard park on the other side of the tracks.
