Land acquisition to help Breaks Interstate Park expand
Breaks Interstate Park has completed a deal that is the largest land acquisition since the recreation area was developed in the 1950s.
A park report said they plan to build on the advancement in tourism and outdoor options established by the owners of Southern Gap Outdoor Adventures by annexing the neighboring property.
The statement said the money for the land purchase came from the Anne and Gene Morrell Foundation and the expansion will bring the state park up to national park standards.
