Landing gear failure briefly closes runway at TRI

A small plane, crash-landed at Tri-Cities Airport Saturday morning. The landing gear looks to have failed during touchdown. A statement from the FAA said, the landing gear of a Beechcraft V35 collapsed when the plane landed around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. TRI emergency responders and maintenance crews worked to secure the scene, remove the aircraft, and return the runway to service with minimal disruption. Runway 23 was closed for approximately two hours.
