Man accused of fatally stabbing father appears in court

A man accused of fatally stabbing his father in the chest and leading a pursuit through Hawkins County appeared in court Thursday. Levi Carter was charged with second-degree murder on June 9. After allegedly killing his father, Anthony Carter, he led a pursuit that crossed state lines before crashing into a police cruiser in Hawkins County and being taken into custody. The judge set Levi Carter’s bond at $500,000.
