Man on Tennessee’s Sex Offender Registry arrested after working at Appalachian Fair

Police have made an arrest after a tip led officers to investigate and apprehend a registered sex offender working as a game attendant at the Appalachian Fair in Gray.

A report from Sheriff Keith Sexton’s office said James Mallory Fay, 34, of Johnson City, is charged with violating terms of the sex offender registry’s work-related restrictions.

According to information posted on Tennessee’s Sex Offender Registry, Fay was arrested twice this year, including a charge of indecent exposure last month and one count of unlawful photography in violation of privacy in January.

Fay was reportedly working one of the carnival games at the Fair’s midway, according to the release. Fay was taken to jail and issued a $5,000 bond.

Bristol Broadcasting Company News has asked for a comment from the operators of the fair’s midway, the James H. Drew Event Coordinators of Augusta, Georgia.
