Meeting scheduled to discuss phase two construction of Tweetsie Trail

Local and state planners are charting the next extension of the Tweetsie Trail in Carter County and want the public’s input on phase two construction.

A report from County Mayor Patty Woodby’s office said the meeting will be Tuesday beginning at 5:30 at the Elizabethton campus of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology.

Phase 1 was completed in 2015, connecting JC & Elizabethton; current plans are for construction on nearly 5 miles of former railway from Valley Forge to Hampton.
