Morning and afternoon rush hours to be impacted by road work in Johnson City, Colonial Heights
Two repair projects will have an impact on commuters in two of the Tri-Cities this week.
Work began Sunday on the Interstate 81 bridge in the Exit 59 area of Colonial Heights in Kingsport. Daily lane closures both north and southbound are planned 24/7 and TDOT says that the job is scheduled to be completed by the end of May.
Another facet of Johnson City’s massive downtown water utility improvement plan will take place in two areas where manhole repairs are planned for both Tuesday and Wednesday.
The impacted roads include the Buffalo / Cherry Street area and on West State of Franklin Road between Buffalo and South Commerce Street. Those projects will cause delays for both the morning and afternoon rush hours as work is scheduled from 7 am to 5 pm daily.
