NEW: Hawkins County man indicted on murder, abuse charges in December death of 5-month old toddler

A Hawkins County man has been indicted on murder and abuse charges in the death of a 5-month old toddler.

A grand jury returned a four count indictment against Dominic Michael Liberto, 24, of Mount Carmel, that includes two counts of felony first degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated child neglect.

Court documents allege the death of the 5-month old girl occurred on or around December 6, 2020. Jail officials told us Liberto turned himself in on Friday, April 23, but has since been released on bond.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges on Friday morning at 9 a.m. in Hawkins County Criminal Court.
