Officers said man came to Kingsport home armed with an ax

A man faces several charges after Sullivan County investigators said he came to a home in Kingsport armed with an ax.

A report said Donald Knapp, 66, arrived at the house in the Bloomingdale area just after 3 a.m. while the victim told them Knapp attempted to break down their front door with the ax.

Knapp ran into a wooded area near the house on Hedge Drive but was later found and arrested by deputies. He faces two counts of aggravated assault and one count of burglary.
