Officials: “Rubbish and old furniture” the apparent cause of a brush fire Sunday in Clintwood
Fire crews in Dickenson County, Virginia spent Sunday afternoon battling a brush fire.
The Clintwood Volunteer Fire Department posted to Facebook that they were called to a blaze on Scenic Lane around 4 p.m., which was found to have started by an individual burning rubbish and old furniture.

Officials stated the fire got out of control before 911 was notified. The Virginia Dept. of Forestry responded and help Clintwood firefighters extinguish the fire.
The fire department used the post to remind residents there is an open air burn ban prior to 4 p.m through April 30 and if a fire burns out of control, contact 911 immediately.
