Oh, snap: Flock camera thief in Carter County captured in the act
If you decide to steal a camera that has a feed linked to the internet 24/7, chances are you will be caught in focus.
That’s exactly what happened to 66-year-old Ronnie King of Hampton, who is charged with stealing a Flock traffic camera in Carter County.
While dismantling the object from its stationary post, the camera snapped images of King during the heist, according to the Sheriff’s Office, along with shots of the surrounding neighborhood. King told officers that he panicked when the camera started flashing red, so he placed it in a bag then chucked the item into the Doe River.
King first denied the theft but then told investigators he took the camera out of curiosity.
