Pigeon Forge posts warnings to visitors and drivers for weekend Slammedenuff car show

Pigeon Forge police are warning weekend visitors of an unsafe environment with a sports car convention coming to neighboring Sevierville that will spill over into the tourist area.
The police statement posted online refers to the Slammedenuff event scheduled at Sevierville’s Convention Center.
The report says events like this that are not sanctioned in their locality tend to bring in bad intentions with cases of fights, alcohol consumption in public, vandalism and the potential for auto crashes.
The statement concludes with a welcome to all visitors to Pigeon Forge but police cannot condone those that choose to be destructive, damage property, harass families in traffic or disregard public safety under the pretense of attending a car show.
Spots for registration on the Slammedenuff website indicate car entries and vendor space is sold out for the event.
