Police: Canadian man takes advantage of elderly East Tennessee man with six-figure scam

An elderly Gatlinburg resident was scammed out of $200,000 by a resident of British Columbia who lured the resident into an internet business investment scam.
A city police report said Yin Yiin Chang, 31, had convinced the victim to hand over a series of cash payments including a sizable deposit in person in July.
The statement said officers laid in wait for Chang who had come to Gatlinburg late last month to collect a supposed tax payment for the investment. Chang is charged with fraud, theft and financial exploitation of an elderly resident.
