Police credit Flock camera technology in tracking down fatal hit and run driver in Johnson City
A Flock camera stationed near West Market and South Center streets helped the Highway Patrol and Johnson City Police make an arrest in a fatal hit and run case.
There were no witnesses to the incident but the technology was able to identify the car and the license plate resulting in finding and charging the driver.
A Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputy was the person that spotted the body of the victim in the street on Sunday just before 7:30 pm, according to a city report.
The name of the driver and the victim have not been released. The city statement said the THP would be announcing the criminal charges against the driver.
