Police: Intoxicated stranger tries to kidnap 4-year-old from playground

Investigators said a SW Virginia father physically took back his 4-year-old daughter from a man trying to take her from a playground.

Wytheville police said Chad Douglas Spence was acting aggressive and intoxicated just before he grabbed the girl, resulting in a minor injury to her lip.

Spence ran off after the altercation and was arrested later at an area business. He’s being held without bond on charges of abduction and public intoxication.
