Road work to begin on Watauga Street in Kingsport this week

The City of Kingsport said roadway and utility improvements on Watauga Street will begin this week. Roadwork will take place from the Gibson Mill roundabout to Linville Street and will include road subgrade repairs, new asphalt, new curb, and city utility repairs and replacements. The city said the project will span about 2,300 feet and continue until November 30. Drivers are advised to exercise caution when traveling in the work zone and to seek alternative routes. Signs will mark the construction zones and detours.
