Russell County woman sent to jail for stealing $17,000 from elderly patient

A Russell County, Virginia woman will spend more than a year in prison after pleading guilty to stealing money in her role as an elderly caregiver.

Rendy Eva Hale, 38, of Dante, had previously pleaded guilty to five counts of credit card fraud and forgery after stealing over $17,000 from the Wise County patient.

Evidence presented in Circuit Court says Hale began taking the funds after intercepting the patient’s mail and collecting the funds.
