Scott County planning commission tables data center ordinance
The Scott County planning commission tabled a discussion about a data center ordinance Monday night as residents from across the county were sounding the alarm. Like many other municipalities in the region, the Scott County planning commission is looking to change zoning language to restrict data centers from locating the county. The Current zoning language says that a data center can open anywhere in the county. Planning commission officials said they are considering an ordinance that would restrict data centers to industrial or commercial zones. The ordinance also would require a special use permit to be applied for. The discussion was tabled until the next planning commission meeting.
