Sheriff’s Office: Animals abandoned at Piney Flats home, two dead dogs found

Sullivan County authorities are looking for the homeowner who abandoned several animals and left them inside a house in Piney Flats.

Deputies followed up on a tip about animals being left alone for weeks at the property on North Austin Springs Road, according to a report issued Thursday by Sheriff Jeff Cassidy’s office.

The officers found two dead dogs inside while two other dogs and two cats that appeared to be neglected were recovered by Animal Control after the home was searched.

The investigation is active and charges are pending for the homeowner.
