SRO’s in Unicoi County receive new trucks as part of federal grant

Four new trucks for school resource officers in Unicoi County thanks to money the sheriff’s office received from grants. The Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office says that the new trucks are assigned to SROs at Temple Hill Elementary, Unicoi County High, Love Chapel Elementary and Unicoi Elementary School. Those vehicles were purchased using grant money from the State of Tennessee Department of Homeland Security at no cost to taxpayers. The grants required the funds be spent on SRO salaries, training, and equipment.
