Suspects wanted in Maine home invasion case captured in Carter County
Two suspects accused in a home invasion case in the state of Maine have been captured in Carter County.
A report from Sheriff Dexter Lunceford’s office said Neil Roy Canney, 52, and his niece, Selena Canney, 49, were found sleeping by officers in a car on Dennis Cove Road in Hampton after being tipped by the TBI and Maine State Police.
Canney was wanted for aggravated assault following the invasion and stabbing on July 27th. He was also convicted of murder in 1986 in Tuscon, Arizona. Police said Canney was 16 when he killed 54-year-old Qunicy Powdrill by hitting him in the head with a hammer while he slept.
