TDEC issues catfish consumption ban from Fort Patrick Henry Reservoir

State environment officials will be posting no consumption of catfish signs around the Fort Patrick Henry Reservoir after lab testing showed that species showed elevated levels of PCBs.
The agency recommends pregnant women, nursing mothers and children avoid eating a day’s catch while all others should limit their catfish meal to one per day.
Recent tissue testing revealed a PCB level of 0.296 mg—exceeding the state trigger level of 0.047 mg.
