TDOT: Adopt-a-Highway cleanup program resuming after being put on pause due to COVID-19
Tennessee’s Adopt-a-Highway cleanups are back underway following six months of pausing the program due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation said in a news release that the program is resuming with extra safety precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This includes requiring volunteers to sign a liability waiver with COVID-19 specific language, wearing face masks at all times, volunteers must notify local TDOT officials of a cleanup event at least five days in advance, and no more than 10 volunteers can participate in a cleanup event.
