Tennessee man pleads guilty to trafficking pills containing lethal fentanyl
Federal prosecutors testified look alike pills that were pushed by dealers in Southwest Virginia were actually lethal doses of fentanyl.
A US District Court report said Jermaine Crayton, Jr., 20, was trafficking large quantities of fentanyl-laced pills that resembled oxycodone from TN into Smyth County. His dealing ended with his arrest in August following an undercover operation set up by police to purchase 1,000 of the tablets from Crayton.
Crayton pleaded guilty to federal charges and will be sentenced later this year.
