TN Rep. Crawford announces ESG funding heading to Sullivan County non-profits

Tennessee State Rep. John Crawford has announced that more than $1 million in emergency solution grants are heading to non-profits in Sullivan County.

Crawford, who represents portions of Bristol and Kingsport, says the ESG funding identifies sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons as well as those at-risk of becoming homeless by providing them with services to provide stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness.

“The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have been felt by some of our most vulnerable citizens in Sullivan County,” Crawford said. “These grants will make an incredible difference in the lives of neighbors, and I am grateful for the work these organizations do to provide shelter and other vital resources to our community.”

Organizations that received funding include Family Promise of Bristol ($529,166), Family Promise of Greater Kingsport ($150,000), Greater Kingsport Alliance for Development ($300,000), and Abuse Alternative ($659,560).

These grants were made available to Continuum of Care groups through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act after a competitive application process.
