Two in custody after pursuing and shooting at Morristown couple’s car
An investigation has started following a shooting in the outskirts of Morristown where a suspect reportedly fired shots into a vehicle with a 1-year-old child inside.
A report from the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office said the victim was driving on Noes Chapel Road when a vehicle came from behind and the passenger shot at the couple’s car multiple times. Investigators said no one inside the car was injured and there was no bullet hole damage. After a call to 911, officers began chasing Gabriel Brown, 21, and Brianna Sloan, 26 who were taken to a hospital after their vehicle crashed.
Brown and Sloan face evading and drug charges in Jefferson County while Hamblen County authorities have charged them with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. A 9mm handgun was recovered after Sloan’s crash along with multiple ski masks.
