TWRA adds sampling stations to track possible disease at start of muzzleloader season
Sampling stations will be posted in Bulls Gap and Rogersville as officers with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will be checking deer to investigate the spread of chronic wasting disease.
Dead deer are catalogued and confirmed cases of CWD have been centered in 19 West and Middle Tennessee counties.
The checks coincide with the first day of muzzleloader season for Tennessee hunters on Saturday.
