UT Vols: Boo Carter released from football program

Sophomore defensive back Boo Carter has been released from the Vols after missing Saturday’s homecoming game. A spokesperson confirmed Sunday that Carter is no longer with the team. Head Coach Josh Heupel briefly addressed Carter’s absence from the game Saturday after the Vols’ 42-9 win against New Mexico State, stating certain standards need to be met to be in that locker room, and said Carter was not on the field and that he wouldn’t comment further. Carter had been a member of the Vols Football program since 2024.
