Virginia pharmacies in the federal retail pharmacy program moving to vaccinating individuals in Phase 1b

Pharmacy chains in Virginia participating in the federal retail pharmacy program are now moving to vaccinate individuals in the Phase 1b group.

The Virginia Dept. of Health says this includes anyone 16-64 years old with high-risk medical conditions in addition to certain front-line essential workers. The expansion follows the recent announcement that some Virginia communities were expanding to vaccinating individuals included in Phase 1c.

Over 300 pharmacies are currently participating in the pharmacy program, including some in Southwest Virginia. More details about the expansion can be found by clicking here.
