Virginia Spring wildfire season starts Monday
Virginia’s Spring wildland fire season and 4 p.m burning laws takes effect today.
The state’s department of forestry says law prohibits burning before 4 o clock between Feb. 15 and Apr. 30 should the fire be in or within 300 feet of woodland, brush, or fields with dry grass or other flammable materials.
The department says that fires should be tended all times, and fires started after four should not have additional material added to the burn.
