Washington County Commission votes “no confidence” in BOE member Keith Ervin
The Washington County Commission made a vote of no confidence in Board of Education member Keith Ervin over comments he made toward a student during a school board meeting. Commissioner Jodi Jones made a motion to suspend the rules and take a vote of no confidence, which does not remove Ervin from the school board. Commissioner Marty Johnson was the only commissioner to vote against it. Keith Ervin has maintained that the clip lacked context and that he only meant to compliment the student for the questions she asked during the meeting. The Board of Education voted to censure Ervin during a special-called meeting on April 8.
