Western North Carolina couple facing weapon charges after bringing gun into school

A North Carolina couple was arrested after they brought their weapons onto school property.
A statement from the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office said 35-year-old Joshua Menard Sr. and his wife Christine Menard were stopped by a student resource officer who noticed Joshua with a gun in his front pocket walking in the school hallway. A search of their vehicle also revealed a handgun.
They are charged with carrying a weapon onto school property, carrying a concealed weapon and simple marijuana possession.
