Wise County man indicted for murder of aunt

The Wise County man accused of taking his aunt’s dead body across state lines has been indicted for her murder by a grand jury.

David Stoneburner, 31, of Appalachia is charged with first degree murder in the death of 44-year-old Sandra Lea Moore last month. Stoneburner was also indicted on one count of abuse of a corpse.

Investigators said Stoneburner took the woman’s body into Harlan County, Kentucky in the Black Mountain area then placed it inside of a vehicle, set it on fire then pushed the automobile over a hillside. Stoneburner faces an arson charge in Kentucky.
