3 arrested after Tuesday pursuit in Kingsport

On Tuesday, July 14th, the SCSO’s Interstate Crime Unit received information about a stolen license plate that had been reported stolen the day before. The vehicle was traveling on Lynn Garden Drive. The vehicle was located in a parking lot on Clinchfield Street and deputies attempted to stop the vehicle which was pursued into the Ridgefields area. Two individuals were walking in the neighborhood and it was determined they had been passengers in the vehicle. Both individuals, 56 year old Robert Dorton and 29 year old Sky Brown had outstanding warrants. While deputies were speaking with Dorton and Brown, other deputies located the vehicle at a residence in Ridgefields. The vehicle again fled and was pursued to the Domtar Park baseball fields with the driver exiting and eventually entering the Holston River and exiting on the other side before being taken into custody. 32 year old Shane Corker of Kingsport was charged with auto theft, 2 counts of theft, evading arrest, and possession of narcotics.
