Woman charged with first degree murder in Kingsport homicide

The two people identified as persons of interest in a Kingsport homicide earlier this week have been charged in the investigation.

A city report said 22-year-old Krysten Atkins is charged with the first degree murder of the victim identified as 37-year-old Johnathan Reed. His body was found near Sky South Road in the Lynn Garden area early Monday after a 911 call about gunshots. Atkins and her accomplice identified as 33-year-old Tyler Holly were found around 5 pm Monday at an address on Garden Drive and taken into custody. Both are currently jailed.

Atkins was already facing a list of charges stemming from two incidents last summer including reckless endangerment and evading arrest in July and theft over $10,000 in August.
