Former tractor dealership worker sent to prison for wire fraud
A former dealership employee indicted for wire fraud was sentenced to 15 months in prison by a federal judge after a plea agreement was reached with US prosecutors.
A city report said Jacob B. Redman made more than $1 million in fraudulent transactions when he was employed by Meade Tractor in Johnson City. Attorneys said Redman also falsified records and misused dealership inventory and sales processes as part of the scheme.
“We appreciate the work of the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in investigating and prosecuting this case,” said Chuck Meade, president and CEO of Meade Tractor in a prepared statement from the city of Johnson City offices. “The actions of one individual do not reflect the values of our organization or diminish our commitment to our customers.”
