Congresswoman Harshbarger introduces bill to ban abortion pill
Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger has introduced a bill that would ban the chemical abortion drug mifepristone. It is called, The Safeguarding Women from Chemical Abortion Act. The act would withdraw the FDA’s approval of mifepristone for abortion, make distributing and labeling mifepristone violations of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and create a private right of action for women harmed by chemical abortion to sue manufacturers for damages. The drug accounted for 63 percent of all abortions in the country in 2023, according to the Guttmacher Institute.
