YouTube host famous for finding and exposing pedophiles assists in Abingdon arrest
A YouTube show host with more than 35 million views on his account contacted Washington County, Virginia law enforcement to report a sex offender violating the terms of his probation.
A Sheriff’s Office report said that led up to the arrest of Marc Allen Gardner, 34, of Abingdon, after the host of Predator Poachers told investigators Gardner had allegedly communicated online with what he thought to be a 13-year-old girl.
According to police, Gardner, who was taken into custody at a residence on Carousel Road, admitted to using devices online for child sex related offenses and now faces 9 charges including taking indecent liberties with children. He is being held without bond.
The Virginia Sex Offender Registry maintained by State Police officials shows Gardner was convicted in 2018 on two counts of possession of obscene materials featuring minors.
Other potential charges are pending against Gardner after officers collected electronic devices and digital media that will be examined.
The report also said evidence of possible animal neglect was found at Gardner’s home.
