Assistance group for Helene victims shutting down December 31st
A group that has been guiding Washington County, Tennessee residents since Hurricane Helene will be shutting down operations.
A report from the County Long Term Recovery Group says December 31st is the deactivation day for a staff of community leaders, faith-based organizations, and volunteers who gave of their time to help flood victims with housing repair and replacement, receiving available disaster aid relief, and head up projects within the county that brought normalcy back to communities.
New assistance applications will not be accepted after November 16th but the group’s website will remain active, according to the message issued Tuesday.
