Kingsport announces road closures for July 4th celebrations
The City of Kingsport has announced street closures for Saturday’s July 4 festivities. The Mack Riddle American Legion Independence Day Parade gets the day started at 10 a.m. The parade will go down Center Street from Wateree Street to Memorial Park on Fort Henry Drive. Several roads will be closed beginning Saturday morning including portions of Center Street, Fort Henry Drive and Wilcox Drive. Some side streets will also be affected and some detours will be in place. Streets will reopen following the parade. In preparation for the Red, White, and Boom celebration downtown, Main Street will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday for set up, with hard blocks put in place by 1 p.m. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. and end with a fireworks finale’ around 9:45 p.m.
