New facility coming to the Unicoi County Family YMCA

Construction has started at the Unicoi County Family YMCA with crews breaking ground on a new childcare facility, which YMCA officials say will be able to serve more than 99 children in the facility. The 8,000-square-foot facility will feature new classrooms, a play area, full-day childcare, before and after-school childcare and will be used for camps in both summer-fall and winter-spring sessions. The facility is expected to be completed by the end of the year and officials say the new facility will help with the space constraints that the facility has been working with.
