Resurfacing Eastman Road to begin soon in Kingsport

Contract crews hired by the city of Kingsport will begin installing signage for detours and other safety measures as a resurfacing project begins in the coming days for the Eastman Road area.

Nearly 5 miles of roadway—extending from Stone Drive to the Lincoln Street bridge at Eastman Chemical Company—will receive new pavement at a cost of $2.28 million.

The project is anticipated to take a month to complete, weather permitting, and work will be done in the evening hours to minimize impact on traffic.
