State Trooper uses patrol cruiser to intercept drunk driver in Johnson City school zone
A trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol positioned their cruiser to take the impact and intercept an alleged drunk driver who entered a Johnson City school zone.
The preliminary report said officers were already in pursuit of a stolen SUV out of Jonesborough reportedly driven by Nicholas Dorscher, 35, when the suspect continued his erratic driving down North Roan Street.
The statement said the officer used his vehicle as a shield near Indian Trail Middle School to protect children and passing motorists. Dorscher faces charges of DUI, felony evading, possession of stolen property, and reckless driving.
