TDOT launches new Rural Service Patrol program to help drivers
The Tennessee Department of Transportation has started the Rural Service Patrol program to help drivers in rural areas across the state. TDOT spokesperson Mark Nagi said the Rural Service Patrol program is an expansion of the HELP Program, which focuses on highways in urban areas. The extension will cover every interstate mile in Region 1 where the Tri-Cities are located. Nagi also said other services will be available, along with helping after crashes. A kickoff event for the program in East Tennessee will be held on May 28 at the Welcome Center off of I-26 in Kingsport.
