Update: Sevierville official arrested in Jonesborough now on suspension without pay
A Sevierville city official arrested in Washington County, Tennessee last month is now being suspended without pay after a court hearing this week in Jonesborough.
A statement from the city said the status was changing for City Administrator Dustin Smith, who is charged with one count of domestic violence.
The report said they are making sure to handle the case fairly, but the Board of Mayor and Aldermen feels it is not appropriate to continue a paid suspension for the next six weeks.
A delay occurred in Smith’s court proceedings, and they are pushed back until December.
