Violent comments about Wallace Middle results in arrest

Wallace Middle School in Bristol, Virginia was placed on lockdown along with Battle High School after a worker at a nearby factory made threats of suicide and violence involving the middle school.

A Washington County report said Matthew Donald Counts, 55, a worker at SPIG Industries, was taken into custody after co-workers reported his behavior.

Police said the situation was handled within 30 minutes and was isolated. Counts faces a felony charge of threats of death or discharge of a firearm on school property.
